During my younger years, I often found myself striving to be a people pleaser, yearning to be part of various social circles and basking in the company of the cool and popular kids from school.

But as I’ve matured, my perspective on friendship has evolved. Today, I’d like to share the top three lessons I’ve learned about friendship and include two additional insights to enrich the narrative.

1. Quality Over Quantity

When it comes to friendship, it’s the depth of connection that matters most, not the sheer quantity of friends you can accumulate. In fact, a handful of genuine, dependable friends often outweighs a multitude of acquaintances.

True friends are the ones who show up when you need them the most. These are the individuals who stand by your side in good times and bad, providing unwavering support and understanding.

2. Childhood Friendships That Endure

Some of the most enduring and meaningful friendships are forged in the fires of childhood. These are the bonds that are birthed when we are innocent and carefree, with life’s complexities yet to fully unfold. My best friend…
