I’ve Been Using Linux as My Main OS for 5 Years Now

The story began when a work colleague of mine gave me a refurbished Dell Latitude E7440 as a birthday gift. Back then, I was using Windows 10 on my laptop and so, I installed Linux on spare one.

I have used Linux at University and learn a lot for the LPiC-1 exam, but I was still doing my daily tasks on Windows, out of commodity.

I didn’t hesitate to install Ubuntu Mate on my Dell! The more I used it, the more I started to love Linux. Now, I only use Windows to help my mom sign documents with her token, because the software does not have Linux support.

I use my laptop for writing, entertainment, and browsing, mostly, so I could replace all the Windows applications with open-source software.

I don’t hate Windows or anything, I just find Linux and open-source software more suitable than Microsoft’s products. I still use Windows 10 on my work laptop, but I think I could do the same things on Ubuntu as well, but that would not respect the company’s policy.
