Being appreciated at your job is not a difficult task if you follow a bunch of basic rules.

As we spend 40 hours a week with work colleagues, we need to have a good experience.

Here are three simple things you can do to gain the respect of your colleagues.

Work hard

It sounds like a cliche, but it isn’t, trust me. If you want to be appreciated by your coworkers, you need to work hard.

No matter how nice and funny you are, if others need to do things on your behalf because you are lazy, you won’t be respected at all.

Sorry for stating the obvious, but I could not miss this out.

Don’t bad mouth or gossip about others

It’s always a good idea to mind your own business. Don’t take part in gossiping and never bad-mouth others.

Don’t try to boost your reputation by climbing on other people’s bad things. This will bring you the opposite result.

Nobody likes gossipers.

Be accountable for your actions and mistakes
